You must be a current member in good standing of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion.

You must be the owner of a motorcycle of at least 350cc engine displacement. Said motorcycle must be registered and insured as appropriate to the applicable state or local laws where the owner resides.

You must possess a valid driver's license in your state of residence as well as a proof of insurance card. Registrant of motorcycle must carry necessary endorsement or license as appropriate to the applicable state or local laws where the motorcycle is registered.

You must be the legal spouse of an ALR member in good standing within the Chapter of application.

You must pay an Initiation Fee and Dues.The Initiation fee for membership is $85.00 which includes the first year dues of $15.00 and the cost of the ALR back patch, of which is non-refundable.

All candidates for membership into The American Legion Riders shall be voted upon by the membership of the Chapter at a regular meeting. A majority vote of those present and voting shall elect or reject a candidate.
